3D Secure Cardholder authentication

We would like to inform you of a security update made to the Monyx Wallet application. Due to growing risks and security concerns, we have implemented 3D Secure cardholder authentication for users. This will ensure protection against fraud.

What does this mean?
A 3DS authentication will be requested from users who top up Monyx Wallet or add a new credit card to their account.

How will users be authenticated?
The most common way to receive 3DS authentication is via pop-up. A pop-up will appear on the user’s screen requesting a code. The code will then be sent to the user by their bank/credit card company via SMS, and the user will enter it into the pop-up. 3DS authentication can also be done in the following forms: fingerprinting, passcodes, and facial recognition.

Who determines how a user will be authenticated?
The user’s bank or credit card company.

Why did we implement 3DS authentication?
Full 3D Secure transactions almost completely eliminate chargebacks.

When will a 3DS authentication be required?

  1. When you add a new credit card to your Monyx Wallet account. This applies to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia.
  2. When you add a new card to your Monyx Wallet account AND when you top up. This applies to: Mexico, and the United States.
